STATIONS OF THE CROSS IN LENT – Every Friday in Lent at 12 noon followed by a ‘’Soup and Roll’’ lunch in the Church Hall. Volunteer soup makers please sign the list in the porch. All cash donations for the Lenten Lunch will be donated to ‘Shelter for the Homeless in the Phillipines’’.

LENTEN TALKS 2019 HOW TO WRITE A GOSPEL – given by Mr John Huntriss, Catechist of the Clifton Diocese. The talks will take place immediately following Mass at 7.00pm. Tuesday evenings March 19th and March 26th.

PENITENTIAL SERVICES IN LENT – Holy Trinity, Sutton Monday April 8th at 7.00pm; Holy Cross, Walmley Tuesday April 9th at 7.00pm St. Nicholas, Boldmere Wednesday April 10th   at 7.30pm; Erdington Abbey  Tuesday April 16th at 7.00pm.

PARISH YOUTH DAY OUT       SATURDAY MAY 4th 2019 – The parish is organising a Youth Day Out to Rushton Triangular Lodge and Wicksteed Park on Saturday May 4th for children aged 10, 11 and 12. If you would like more information please see Father Neil. We look forward to hearing about your interest as this will be a fantastic day out for the young people of our parish.

DIOCESAN PILGRIMAGE TO WALSINGHAM     Saturday May 11TH 2019 – If you would like to join this pilgrimage, please sign the list in the porch.  Please pay when booking. A coach will leave Holy Cross Car Park at 7.30am.  Cost: £20.00 per adult.  Under 16s £10.00.

TABOR HOUSE – VOLUNTEER RECRUITMENT EVENING – Tabor House, Birmingham’s only permanent night shelter, is looking for volunteers to help, especially overnight and mentors. If you are interested in finding out more, please come along to their Open Evening on Wednesday March 20th 2019 from 6.00pm – 8.00pm at Saint Anne’s Training Room, 96 Bradford Street, Birmingham B12 0PY. HOLY CROSS SCHOOL   MINI VINNIES LENTEN APPEAL – In order to support our local community and in particular, Erdington Food Bank, our Mini Vinnies are organising a ‘Toiletries Tuesday’ event.  They are asking for donations of toiletries especially toothpaste, soap, shampoo and toilet rolls.  Any donations should be brought into school on Tuesday March 26th and we will ensure they reach the families in need.  Thank you for your support.

SAINT OF THE WEEK – Saint Joseph – the husband of Mary the mother of Jesus and the guardian of Jesus. In Catholic and other traditions, Joseph is the patron saint of workers and has several feast days. In 1870 Pope Pius IX declared him to be the patron saint and protector of the Catholic Church.

PRO-LIFE TALK    MARCH 23rd 2019 – Every life matters – a talk by Life Charity will take place next Saturday March 23rd 2019 at The Grimshaw Room, Saint Chad’s Cathedral B4 6EY starting at 10.30am.
