PLEASE NOTE – Father Neil is due to go into hospital this Friday November 9th.  He will spend 3-4 days in hospital and then he will require 4-6 weeks convalescence. Please pray for a speedy recovery. In his convalescence, Deacon Andrew will be in charge of the parish – but please remember he is a full time head teacher and may not be able to respond immediately. He may be contacted on 07 977 391 622. Priest in emergencies: Until Father Neil is fully recovered from his operation he will be unable to answer emergency call outs. In the next few weeks if you need a priest in an emergency, you should in the first instance try either  Father Michael on 0121 354 1211 or Father Allen on 0121 354 1763  or you can ring the Dean, Father Simon on 07 985 753 391.


NOVEMBER – MONTH OF THE HOLY SOULS – Parishioners are invited to write names of deceased relatives and friends in the white envelope  available from the church porch.  (Please DO NOT enclose money)

MACMILLAN COFFEE MORNING – Thanks to all who donated goods/ baked/ helped in any way last Sunday morning. The amount raised so far is in excess of £670.00.

HELP THE HUNGRY – This weekend coffee is served by the ‘’Help the Hungry’’ group.

HOLIDAY / PILGRIMAGE TO BANNEUX, LIEGE AND BRUGES 2019 Sunday June 23rd – Friday June 28th. – If you are interested then please put your name on the list in the porch and make a deposit of £100 (per person). The cost per person for this six days / five nights pilgrimage is £599.00 pp (£125 single supplement).

HOLY CROSS SCHOOL – OPEN DAY TUESDAY NOVEMBER 6th 2018 – We are holding two open sessions for prospective parents who have children due to start in the Early Years Reception Class in September 2019. These will be on Tuesday November 6th 9.15am – 10.15am and 2.00pm – 3.00pm. If you know of any Catholic families who are in this position please let them know. We look forward to meeting you all. Supplementary Forms are available now from the School Office for children who wish to start our Early Years Class in September 2019. These forms need to be signed by Father Neil, who will be available to see you after a weekend Mass. The closing date for the return of these forms is Friday January 15th 2019.

SAFEGUARDING AND THE WORK OF THE CHURCH – This weekend Archbishop Bernard Longley will personally be addressing the involvement of the Archdiocese in the Independent Inquiry into Child Sexual Abuse (IICSA) when an open pastoral letter is read out in all churches. The letter is available on the Archdiocese website: https://www.birminghamdiocese.org.uk/ If you would like to speak to someone about safeguarding and the Church’s work, please call 0121 230 6240. If you would like to speak to someone independent of the Church you can contact the NSPCC on 0808 8000 5000. Please pray with us for all victims of abuse and for all those involved in the work of this important inquiry.

+ REST IN PEACE + Please pray for the repose of the souls of Betty Turner and John Mead who died recently. John will be received into church this Wednesday November 7th at 5.00pm. His Requiem Mass will be celebrated here this Thursday November 8th at 2.30pm. Betty’s funeral service will take place this Friday November 9th at 1.00pm at Sutton Crematorium.
