+ REMEMBRANCE SUNDAY + The 10.30am Mass this Sunday is a Requiem Mass for all who have died as a result of warfare. Please pray for the repose of the souls of all sailors, soldiers, airmen and civilians, friend and former foe alike. Requiescant in pace.

BLESSING OF GRAVES – SUTTON: Sunday November 10th at 3.00pm. NEW HALL: Sunday November 17th at 2.30pm.

NOVEMBER – MONTH OF THE HOLY SOULS – Parishioners are invited to write names of deceased relatives  and friends in the white envelope available from the church porch.  Place your envelope in the memorial box at the foot of the altar. These Holy Souls will be remembered at November Masses.  (Please DO NOT enclose money). A special Mass will be celebrated here on Thursday November 28th at 7.00pm for all deceased parishioners and remembering by name those who have died in the past year.

GOING INTO AND RETURNING FROM HOSPITAL – It is most important that you let Fr Neil know if you are going into hospital (any hospital) in order to make sure that you are visited by the Chaplain and receive the Sacraments.  It is equally important that you let Fr Neil know when you return home.

HOLY CROSS GUILD   OSCOTT VISIT ARRANGEMENTS – Would all who have paid deposits for the visit to Oscott College this Wednesday, please arrive at the front doors of the College via the Chester Road entrance between 12.30pm and 12.50pm.  Turn right after entering through the main gates and follow the roadway around the estate to the front door of the College. The tour will start promptly at 1.00pm.

BISHOP WALSH SCHOOL SIXTH FORM OPEN EVENING – Wednesday 20th November from 18.30-20.30. Year 11 pupils and their families are welcome to visit in preparation for the September 2020 intake.

CONGRATULATIONS – We congratulate Meganne and John McCrory who married here recently.

AID TO THE CHURCH IN NEED – Terry Brown is doing a sponsored walk from Lichfield Cathedral to Saint Chad’s Cathedral on Wednesday November 27th in order to raise funds for ‘Aid to the Church in Need’. They need our prayers and Christians are asked to unite and be visible to draw attention to the plight of our brothers and sisters.

SAINT OF THE WEEK – Saint Martin of Tours  Martin was born in present day Hungary about the year 316. He gave up his military career, was baptised and became a disciple of Saint Hilary of Poitiers. He became the Bishop of Tours.  Martin died in 397.  He was the first non-martyr with an annual feast day in the Church’s calendar. He is patron saint of priests.  His feast day is celebrated on November 11th.
