CONFIMATION IN FEBRUAY – Sadly His Grace, Archbishop Longley is now unable to confirm the children of the parish in February, he has asked the Vicars General to do so in his place.
CHURCH OFFERINGS – It may surprise parishioners to know that the weekly giving in 2015 was between £1,100 and £1,300 per week. Eleven years later, 2026, it remains much the same. Yet, in that time, inflation has meant that we are receiving some 30% less income each week. Father Neil knows that times are not easy but would encourage parishioners to think again about their offering especially if they give by Standing Order or by Direct Debit and have not amended it for years.

SAINT OF THE WEEK – Saint Wulstan (1008- 1095) Saint Wulstan became a Benedictine monk at Worcester and after serving as a Precentor and Prior, he was appointed Bishop in 1062. He was the only Englishman to retain his See after the Norman Conquest. His wise and benevolent rule lasted thirty-two years, during which he rebuilt his Cathedral, reformed the diocese and tried to stop the slave trade in Bristol. (English slaves were sold to Norse traders in Ireland until the twelfth century). The Feast of Saint Wulstan is celebrated on January 19th.
