Information for parents who have children NOT in Holy Cross Catholic Primary School. There will be an information evening for parents and registration of candidates for Confirmation on Thursday 3rd October 2019 in church at 7pm.  Confirmation  - 2020 This year there will be a series of lessons from October to February immediately prior to the Confirmation itself on 27th February 2020. These lessons will be led by parish catechists and they will take place monthly, on Saturday mornings of each month for two hours, from 8.30am (prompt start) until after the 10am Mass on the following dates: 19th October 2019, 9th November 2019, 14th December 2019, 11th January 2020 and 8th February 2020.  In these sessions instruction will be given in the following topic areas:A base line assessment and…

First Holy Communion - 2020 - This year there will be instruction in the months of January - May immediately prior to the First Holy Communion Day itself (Saturday 6th /13th June at 12 noon). INSPIRATIONAL ARTWORK HEADING TO SUTTON COLDFIELD CHURCH An inspiring, life-size statue of Christ, made exclusively of nails, will soon be installed at a Sutton Coldfield church. Sorrows of Steel, by sculptor Shaun Gagg, will be a focal point for the newly-refurbished Lady Chapel of Holy Cross and St Francis Catholic Church, Walmley. The proposal for the installation has been approved by the Archdiocese of Birmingham Committee for Art and Architecture. Parish priest, Father Neil Bayliss, said: “I thought the sculpture should be in a church where Christians can see it, reflect on it and get inspiration.
