SUNDAY FRIENDS – Sunday Friends welcomes everyone especially those with learning disabilities and autistic people and their families who are at the heart of the group. It is an opportunity to come together to have fun, sing and build friendships. It is for anyone who would like to come, for all ages, people of faith or none and it is free. Venue: Newman Community Centre, St Nicholas Church, Boldmere. This Sunday May 3rd 1.30pm.
FEAST OF THE ENGLISH MARTYRS MAY 4th – This feast celebrates the many men and women who suffered for their Faith in England between 1535 and 1680 and have subsequently been recognised by the Church. These included priests, both secular and religious, as well as laity who were prepared to shelter them, to arrange secret Masses and to witness the Faith. They came from all ages and backgrounds, and their heroic witness helps us have a greater love for the Church, the Mass and the Priesthood.
