PARISH PILGRIMAGE TO GREECE – ‘IN THE STEPS OF SAINT PAUL’ The parish pilgrims leave for Greece on Friday October 3rd and return on Friday 0ctober 10th. All parishioners will be remembered in our Masses and prayers.

SAINT OF THE WEEK Saint Jerome (340-420) Saint Jerome was born in Dalmatia (present day Croatia). He studied in Rome where he was baptised. He chose monastic life and went to Syria where he was ordained a priest. He went back to Rome as secretary to Pope Damasus, who commissioned him to revise the Latin text of the Bible. He went to Bethlehem to work on this project. His work is known as the Vulgate which the Church has adopted as ther official version. He also wrote many other works, mostly commentaries of the Bible. His feast is celebrated on September 30th.
